  • Financial statement: Derek

Outstanding items

We need the following things:

  • Details of how to renew memberships at the meeting
  • Past events
  • information night posters
  • Somebody to handle memberships
  • Signup sheets (for mailing lists and the assorted committees)

Volunteer tasks

Here are some concrete tasks volunteers can take on

  • Networking and E-mail: Contacting community groups via phone/e-mail to arrange talks
  • Media watch: keeping an eye on newspapers, TV coverage, Internet coverage, etc; calling on members to respond (with letters to the editor, for example) when necessary; writing press releases and making posters
  • Speaker's Bureau: Gives talks at information nights and for organizations
  • Doorknockers: wanders door-to-door talking to people and handing out literature

Here are some regions we need to cover. It may be worth having committees for each area:

  • Cambridge
  • Kitchener-Waterloo
  • Kitchener Centre
  • Kitchener-Conestoga

Executive tasks

  • Attending the volunteer meetings once a month
  • Attending other executive meetings
  • Taking charge of one or more focus groups and organizing the volunteers there

Executive elections

Our bylaws say we have to run our executive election using a transferable vote.

Here is some software we can try in running our elections: http://stv.sourceforge.net

After the AGM

We are supposed to shred old ballots at some point. Raj has ballots from last year (!) that we should destroy.
