Doctors and Engineers
When I first went to undergrad school I felt very bitter, because all of my super-smart high school peers were off to be doctors and engineers, and I was rotting away in my home town taking a computer science degree because my parents wouldn't let me move.
Well, today I ran across the blogs of two old high school friends, both super-smart but also kind of whacky. One went off to do a combined Envronmental Science-Drama degree, and the other studied Chemistry. Well, guess what? The first is in medical school, and the second just finished her degree in civil engineering.
Sigh. It's a good thing I don't go to class reunions.
