User Interfaces are Hard: Open With...

"No, office computer. Realplayer Enterprise doesn't work. Don't open that MP3 using that."

Right-click. Open with...

wait wait wait

"Oh look! A list of applications!"

look look look

"Hrm. Quicktime Player[0] is not on the list. What shall I do?"

think think think

"Look! There's a `Browse' button!"

Clicks "Browse" button.

"Why did you open a file browser that starts in Program Files? I don't look for applications by browsing the Program Files directory! I look for applications by browsing the Start Menu!"

"Gosh, computer. You're running Windows XP. This useless Browse button has been around for over 10 years now. Why haven't any of your engineers recognised that it is useless and made it more useful?"

[0] No, Windows Media Player is not installed, but a broken Realtime Player and a naggy QuickTime player are. Oh well. At least I don't have to use Linux[1].

[1] Guess how I figured out how to burn an ISO image on my workstation today?
